(1) Decision to ignoro questions of departmental

roorganisation, proposals for the creation of new posts and personal grievances, (paragraph 4).

Pogordig the salaries of certain posts cronted since the reoccupation. (paragrapii 4). (iv) Recommendation that in future all salaries

and emoluments should be expresscd in Hong Kong currency. (paragraph 16).

Recommendation that the future salary structure should be built up on the basis of rates of pay applicable to locally recruited staff. (paragraph 17).

(vi) Decision to restrict recommendations to emoluments of monthly paid staff. (paragraph 18).

Recommendation that in future as many as possible of the lover grade staff should be employed on daily rates of pay but with a guaranteed 30 day month. (paragraph 19).

(ix) Recommendation that officers who do not

benorit immediately from the rovised salaries should be allowed to choose within a certain period whether to remain on their existing conditions of service or to come on to the now scales. (paragraph 22).

Recommendation that where suitably

qualified candidates cannot be obtained at the rovised rates proposed owing to temporary scarcity temporary appointments on short term contracts at higher rates should be offered. (paragraph 25).

(xi) Recommendation that Government should

consider and lay dow: general principles to govern the relation of Deputies and Assistant Heals of Departments to the Hoods or technical departments and to senior professi mal officers in technical departments. (paragraph 25).
